Freelance UX Designer

Start date:      11th February 2019 (induction w/c 4th February)

We are seeking a freelance UX designer to join the team remotely from the Liverpool area. This role will work closely with designers, project managers and developers to translate user and client goals into intuitive, accessible and delightful user experiences.

We are currently working on a project with the NHS to design “Open Electronic & Personal Health Records”. This project aims to create easier access to health data for patients and clinicians. The personal health record (PHR) is used to store data generated and input by the patient to support self-management and to share with clinical teams and carers. Each PHR connects to the relevant electronic health record (EHR) to pull data into a user friendly interface. Future iterations could allow user generated data to be pushed back into the open EHR.

The Role:

  • Progress the project and the platform from a user centered design perspective

    • Plan and run workshops and focus groups

    • Plan and conduct 1:1 depth interviews

  • Great with people

  • Motivated by wanting to make positive change in people’s lives

  • Incredible attention to detail

  • Good at asking ‘why’ – an advocate for an intuitive, inclusive and meaningful user experience

  • Highly disciplined and confident working remotely (we communicate regularly via Slack, phone and Skype)

  • Confident in managing own time

  • Communicative, responsive and responsible

  • Excellent portfolio of UX demonstrating successful engagement with users and solid user experience design, including accessibility
